Welcoming guests since the 1930’s, Highlands ‘came out’ as a gay resort in 1980 (we’re ‘straight friendly’). Individual cabins retain a vintage look with charming gas fireplaces, chrome and formica tables, inlayed linoleum floors and front porches. Our clothing optional pool is the largest in the area and is surrounded by lawns and bright flower borders. Relax in our outdoor hot tub – perfect for stargazing!
Modern amenities, while available, do not intrude. Cabins are technology free allowing you to unplug your life on a very basic level. An abundance of books and games encourages relaxation.
Our concierge will assist with everything from restaurants to wine tasting adventures. Located a two block walk from the gay bars, clubs, restaurants and shops in the bohemian village of Guerneville, we are on 3 acres of redwood groves and gardens.
Easy walk to gay bars, restaurants, clubs & shops. In the Russian River Wine Appellation - over 100 wineries within 30 minute drive. Area activities: Hiking, kayaking, beach walk, horseback riding, bicycling, wine tasting, hot air ballooning, cooking classes, galleries.
Rates range from small single rooms with shared bath at $60/70 per night to individual cabins with king beds, 2 person soaking tubs and gas fireplaces at $190/175 per night. We also offer camping during the summer months.
