This fine, four-storey building has recently been restored to reveal its Victorian splendour. Each room has been decorated with period furniture, affording this bed and breakfast a certain charm that has proven popular with guests. A total of 10 people can be accommodated in the five double rooms, three of which have balconies – two with views across Sydney's dramatic skyline. If its privacy you want, ask for the room ensuite. Although modern conveniences, such as TV sets, are not set up in the rooms, all you need to do is put in your request and hosts David and Ivano will sort it out. The same goes for special dietary requirements – when you make your booking, just mention that you want your breakfast to be vegetarian, kosher or lactose-free, and it will be arranged. Brickfield Hill is conveniently located between Central Station and the gay bars and venues, shops, antique centres and restaurants on Oxford Street.
